Sail, Dive and Explore the Pacific Ocean and then the worlds most remote locations with Jamie and Denise from Adelaide, Australia on their Lagoon 380 Catamaran. Diving and Sailing are our passions and so far we have explored Lord Howe Island, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand, as well as most of the Far North Queensland coastline.
Sailing Fiji Viti Levu Adventure 139
With family coming to visit we head into Vuda Marina to re-provision - which is a med mooring, with the added bonus of walking a plank to get on and off your boat. We then explore the Mamanucca Islands off Fijis west coast with our visitors, and get a few dives in. As the most accessible islands they get a lot of visitors and a lot of yachts. Once our visitors are gone we try to head north to the Yasawa Island of Waya, but the weather doesn't want to cooperate. Still we have a great visit to a village, and learn about their health services and their schools

Sailing Fiji's Makogai Island Adventure 138

Fijis remote islands are stunning, and we spend an amazing 3 days at Makogai Island, visiting the local village, the clam hatchery and have a lengthy tour of the Leprosy Hospital and buildings. We then move on towards Lautoka, in gorgeous glassy waters, with crystal clear skies. It really is what cruising is all about. Waking up in Fiji, one of our favourite countries in the world, with blue skies and sunshine would make anyone smile, after rain, and a dreary passage though we are super happy. We get to work provisioning in the SavuSavu markets and main street so that we are all prepared to head out and explore the beautiful islands of Namena and Makogai Get Wrecked by Imagine Dragons and over 1M mainstream t...
Sailing from Tonga to Fiji Adventure 136

Join us as we sail from Tonga to Fiji! The sailing is pretty good, sadly Denise is sick and really struggles through the whole passage. The weather isn't as kind as expected (no surprise) and we struggle through rain and a spinnaker that is tearing! We finally pick up a mooring in the teeming rain in Savusavu and get a few hours sleep, and then we are in our beloved Fiji.....
Sailing Va'Vau Tonga Adventure 135

Sailing through Va'Vau Tonga we find some of the clearest water we have ever seen, however in our quest for diving and snorkelling we are disappointed to find very little fish or coral. We do find some beautiful caves to dive though and we reprovision again in the town of Neiafu. And we fly the drone over the gorgeous bay of Port Maurelle
Sailing and Cave Diving Tonga Adventure 134
Просмотров 12 тыс.Год назад
Va'vau Tonga is spectacularly beautiful above the water, however there is little coral or fish life in the magically clear warm water. With this in mind, we take a slightly different path than usual, and go searching for caves to explore. Mariners Cave was beautiful, and although it can be done as a snorkel, we were keen to dive it as well.
Stupid Sailing mistakes in Tonga Adventure 133
Просмотров 12 тыс.Год назад
Tonga has been an easy cruising ground, although we have been very disappointed by the lack of fish and coral, we have very much enjoyed the warm clear water. On a quest to find some coral we head into a cute little bay only to mess up our own propellor with rope WE left in the water. What idiots. Abandon all plans and head to a safer anchorage for Jamie to hop in the water and start sawing!
Sailing through the Kingdom of TONGA Adventure 132

Tonga! Finally and we are loving the weather and being back in the cruising lifestyle where there are other boats to hang and explore with. We get busy with a few essential jobs, like installing a new alternator, making water and washing clothes, and of course exploring Nuku'alofa for markets and groceries. And then, because we are so desperate to snorkel and dive, we head north to the Vava'u g...

So now we get really busy doing all those jobs that can only really be done last minute, fuel, fresh food, water top up, sell the car and more. Then join us as we FINALLY leave New Zealand, bound North East to Tonga 1100nm, or 11 days away Check out some of o...
Why do we do so much boat work before leaving for TONGA? Adventure 128
Просмотров 11 тыс.Год назад
It's a big thing to sail from one country to another over 1100nm, and 10 days. With only yourselves to rely upon and the servicing and repairs that you have done and your joint abilities to fix and problem solve. So, it means a LOT of prep work, both to the physical boat, and to being food and spare parts self sufficient. Although we have been working through jobs on and off the terrible Auckla...

Awful bureaucracy
We need some new wrecks onsite at Allan Power Dive Tours. Does anyone care to repeat what happened in October 1942 and sink their cruise ship directly in front? Jamie??
Hey Jamie, great to catch up in Santo. How's the trip back been so far? Dave & Oska
I could almost smell the curry! I liked the sequence of close up hands operating equipment and of course l loved the barista delivering coffee to Denise at Table 1 - so sweet!
Thank you so much 😊
17:55 WHS breach! ;) I hope boat prep is going well
Tis indeed
Thank you for the tour, beautiful islands, the meal looked delicious, & lovely people. Keep sailing, stay happy. We have just come home from fishing & crabbing around the Jumpin area Gold Coast, very sunny weather for a change. Elaine from Brisbane.
Our pleasure!
Great video, thanks! Nice to see you guys😊
Welcome bock (to the general area)
Ja waar het jy die geld gekry
Thanks for watching
An emotional video, I could feel your pain😕! Nice to finish with champagne and smiles😃😍
Champagne is always a good idea ❤️❤️
Enjoyed that. Thanks couldn't spot the mistakes tho 🙃 have untied seaweed from rudder tho. No prop on our yacht!
Leaving the filter in the water tied to a rope and then putting the boat in reverse to anchor - Doh!
The winch reminded me of a Lego Technic kit, but without the step by step instructions. Good job Denise!
Thanks. The whole process is filled with the trepidation of losing a part or assembling it incorrectly 😂❤️
Those tiny springs in the winch remind me of the "Jesus Christ" spring on a S&W 686 revolver. When disassembling the gun - the would often flick out and the JC reference was the blaspheme you used when it did! Also - want me to jazz up your spreadsheet to be more interactive? ;)
Jamie is very proud of his spreadsheet….
If I did that it would have to be a big yacht.
😂😂
The 'living the dream' moment for me in this episode is Denise doing a graceful dive into crystal clear water, with great perspective from the drone. (I didn't miss the fish names, in fact I think I was able to focus more on the beauty of the fish and their habitat 🙂)
Awesome - can I say the fish name debate raged on but I stood firm based on audience feedback 😂😂
scary to snorkel in together...
Diving was my preferred option
The drone footage is fabulous and, as always, I love the romantic drinks on the beach watching the sunset.
Thanks Helen. It was a lovely night
The drone shots really give a great perspective of the reef networks that you have to navigate. Love it.
Thanks - almost lost it today ……. Someone crashed it into the boat - luckily the boat caught it 😂😂
Great video, well done. Thanks.👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you for this video, loved the beautiful water’s & scenery. Sorry you had to waste time diving to clear the prop, I have also had to so this for my husband, but luckily it wasn’t around the prop, so was able to be get it untangled. But that was back in the 1990’s a lot of fun the children were having bets , anyway we learned a good lesson about ropes. Wishing you fair sailing, Elaine from Brisbane.
Thanks Elaine - we had to do this a lot in Indonesia- first time we’ve done it to ourselves
They film a lot of the Survivor TV series in the Fijian islands.... You could help vote someone off!
thanks - i think we are voting ourselves off at the moment
Very interesting to see how you manage a sailboat in bad weather. I could never do that, even though my husband & I have been boating (not sail) all our married life 53 years now & still going strong. We always stay down around the Gold Coast, where we don’t get bad weather much. So congratulations & you deserve that Champagne. Wishing all the best for the rest of your trip, Elaine. From Brisbane.
Thanks Elaine, we wouldn’t choose to do it either. Bad weather, like shit just happens 😂😂
Thanks bro💯💪
No problem 👍
First time I've seen you channel ,so I'm subscribed now and got a thumbs up ..
Awesome, thank you!
Great video again. 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Some fabulous footage from interesting camera angles. Denise, I could almost smell the curry & Jamie, I liked your elegant dive. Love it all!
Glad you enjoyed it Helen. Remember most of Denise’ recipes are on the website. Lukimyu.com.au That particular recipe is not yet up, so we’ll need to get on to that. Thank you also for your kind words on our footage.
Think I would have had that drink in the lighting don’t know about waiting. 😮
That is excellent advice. We should have!
Hi Guys just had a pleasant lunch good cuppa tea and watching your video, your comment re the beautiful blue havnt seen that colour water since Bermuda 1972,sure is a carrot in front of nose making the wait.Question do you have your own air tank filling.😊
Hi Tony, Thank you for comments and thanks for watching. The water colour of the Pacific never ceases to amaze us. Yes, we do have our own dive compressor. A Bauer Junior 2. A great little compressor. Takes about 20 minutes to fill a 100cf tank.
Love the history background too!
Thanks Scott. The size, scale and impact of the volcanic eruption and corresponding tsunami was certainly far greater than I remember being reported in western news. Combined with Tonga having been closed until very recently, it will be sometime before Tonga is really back on its feet.
Denise - you seem to pronounce Tonga as Ton-gah (hard g) and Jamie says Tong-ah (soft g). What do the locals call it?
Hi Scott, The locals we met seem to say Tong-ah. But who really knows?
Hi Scott, The locals we met seem to say Tong-ah. But who really knows?
Perhaps I should learn 🇫🇯
Hi Guys I live in Opua at present still sorting our boat or should say my friend is sorting my boat, next season with some luck I should be doing the trip in more or less the same hopefully a bit more wind, our boat is a 10.5 or 33ft x19 ft cat junk rig from UK she’s done some miles 45000 nm sorted for sure we just doing little bits.Just found you will be watching you I’m looking at as much as I can.Are you going on further?.Take care Tony
Hi Tony, we just left Tonga for Fiji. Thanks for watching
I was terrified just watching! The clear skies and calm blue sea on the following day must have felt a bit surreal. LukimYu is an amazing yacht.
It’s was unreal how quick it cleared up
Hi guys, a pleasant and interesting video, happily without glitz. I am a little surprised that you do not put out a lure for some fresh fish, but this is the first time I am tuning in - have subscribed so looking forward to seeing future episodes.. safe sailing.
Hi Andrew, we do fish, and lost a huge Wahoo on that trip.
0djuryxiqiyd❤🎉😊
Happy for you both!
Thanks
That lightning storm was intense. 🌩️⚡️🌩️ You certainly earned that champagne! 🍾
Yes indeed!
Yep that’s the sound of 380 having fun 😂
The 380 might have been having fun but it’s humans were not
Nice to see your beautiful view videos
Awww. Thank you
I was totally enamoured with the colour of the ocean. And so glassy! And impressed with the sailing menu too. Nice work
Thanks AJ, the glossy ocean is totally mesmerising
Wow, Pacific blue 💙💙 thanks for sharing. If you didn't have fuel, how different would your trip be?
@@LadyPC without fuel we would have waited for a different weather window (one with more consistent winds) but we were so desperate to leave cold New Zealand, that we made the decision to motorsail the majority of the trip
Great videos! Just watched Sailing to Tonga 1 & 2. Can’t wait to see the storm and high winds in Part 3!😬
Thanks Beth. Surely you get enough of that drama
Thanks for another fabulous video! The glassy blue water is so beautiful. I really enjoy being an 'armchair' sailor!
And a real ‘visiting’ sailor
Did you get the price you wanted on the car?
Sure did!!

thanks!
Yes I believe in you Lord ❤️

Just found your page through Women Who Sail.. So glad to have someone different and enjoyable to watch. We skied in Wanaka a few years ago. Can't wait to sail to NZ when we get our Catamaran on the water.
Thanks for the message, so nice to get some feedback. I guarantee no arse shots. We are on our way to Tonga at the moment, and it made my day to read your comment
